Sa panahon sa paghari ni Ahab, gipatukod pag-usab ni Hiel nga taga-Betel ang Jerico. Sa dihang gitukod niya ang mga pundasyon niini, namatay ang iyang kamagulangan nga anak nga si Abiram. Ug sa dihang gipatrabaho niya ang mga pultahan, namatay ang iyang kamanghorang anak nga si Segub. Nahitabo kining tanan sumala sa giingon sa Ginoo pinaagi kang Josue nga anak ni Nun.

In his days did Hiel the Beth-elite build Jericho: he laid the foundation thereof in Abiram his firstborn, and set up the gates thereof in his youngest son Segub, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Joshua the son of Nun.
