Silotan sa Ginoo ang Israel nga daw tigbaw nga gilamba-lamba sa sulog sa tubig. Ibton niya sila gikan niining maayong yuta nga iyang gihatag sa ilang mga katigulangan, ug patibulaagon ngadto sa unahan sa Suba sa Eufrates tungod kay gipalagot nila siya sa dihang naghimo sila ug mga poste nga simbolo sa diosa nga sa Ashera.

For the LORD shall smite Israel, as a reed is shaken in the water, and he shall root up Israel out of this good land, which he gave to their fathers, and shall scatter them beyond the river, because they have made their groves, provoking the LORD to anger.
