Apan mitubag si Nabot, “Hinaut nga dili gayod itugot sa Ginoo nga ihatag ko kanimo ang gipanunod ko sa akong mga katigulangan.” Mipauli si Ahab nga naguol ug naglagot tungod sa gitubag ni Nabot kaniya. Mihigda siya nga nag-atubang sa dingding, ug wala mokaon.
